Summary

Hunut Hydropower Projects are located in Eastern Black Sea Region, Erzurum Province, Ispir District on Hunut (Çamlikaya) Creek a branch of Çoruh River. Projects are at the planning stage.

Hunut-I HEPP makes use of the head between 1.810 m and 1.665 m, Hunut-II HEPP makes use of the head between 1.667 m and 1 345.5 m and Hunut-III HEPP makes use of the head between 1.347.5 m and 1.130 m of Çamlıkaya Creek. The topography of the area is too steep which increases excavation amount significantly. In order to reduce the amount of excavation, circular forebays are designed in these three projects. Moreover, the water transmission line was designed as GRP pipeline, thanks to this the construction period of the pipeline is shortened considerably. According to the head and discharges, Francis Turbines were selected for Hunut-I and Hunut-III Projects. To decrease the negative effect of the turbine minimum discharge, the turbine configuration is selected as two bigger capacity and one smaller capacity turbines. According to the head and discharges, two equal capacity Pelton Turbines were selected for Hunut-II Project.
