Summary

Hasanlar HEPP is located on Küçük Melen Creek. Hasanlar Dam was constructed and started to operate in 1974. The powerhouse was constructed and started to operate in 1991. In 2012, Batıçim Energy obtained the right to the Hasanlar HEPP operation and will hold it for 50 years.

Hasanlar Dam is a clay core rockfill type dam and the height from thalweg is about 70.80 m. Hasanlar Dam has 2 spillways at the same location. The one with more capacity is at 267.36 m in crest elevation. Its type is uncontrolled. The maximum water level of the dam is 271.30 m. The smaller spillway is located at the same axis with the greater one, but the elevation is lower. Smaller spillway is uncontrolled orifice type and is at 255.50 m crest elevation. Total capacity of these two spillways is 1440 m3/s.

Hasanlar HEPP Project is not a new Project; it has been in operation about 22 years. Therefore some maintenance, renewal etc. may be required. Prosem Engineering has investigated the project and designated the necessary works to do. In accordance with these studies, Prosem Engineering gave some suggestions to improve the project’s feasibility.
