Summary

Çekerek (Süreyyabey) Dam & HPP project is located in Central Anatolia Region within the border of Çekerek district of Yozgat province over the Çekerek River. Powerhouse is adjacent to the Süreyyabey Dam. The construction of Dam facilities have been completed by DSI and the construction of energy facilities is planned to be completed in 2019.

Çekerek (Süreyyabey) Dam Project consists of a multiple-purpose reservoir having an active storage of 1081 hm3 being responsible for irrigation demands, flood control and energy production. Dam diverts the water via 314 m long energy tunnel to the branch and with a 115 m long penstock to the turbines. Prosem Engineering's scope is to design the energy purpose of the project. Reservoir simulation was carried out in order to determine the optimum turbine capacities and to define the operation rules in order to maximize energy revenues while ensuring the non-energy purposes of the project. Revised feasibility report was prepared as a result of the process and electromechanical equipment contractual works started accordingly. The powerhouse at the toe of Süreyyabey Dam will contain 3 Francis units having a total capacity of 16.40 MW and will generate 49.84 GWh energy annually.
